धर्मेन्द्र ने कई शानदार फिल्में की हैं, पर वो अगर किसी एक किरदार के लिए हमेशा किलकारियों के साथ याद किये जाते हैं तो वो है प्रोफेसर परिमल त्रिपाठी, जो की उन्हें हृषिकेश मुखर्जी की फिल्म चुपके चुपके में मिला. फिल्म चुपके चुपके में प्रोफेसर परिमल त्रिपाठी का किरदार यक़ीनन बॉलीवुड के सबसे ज्यादा कॉमिक किरदारों में से है. प्रोफेसर त्रिपाठी के ‘जिज्जा जी‘, उनकी बीवी सुलेखा की नज़र में भगवान् हैं. जैसे एक मयान में दो तलवारें नहीं रह सकतीं वैसे ही एक मनमंदिर में दो भगवान् कैसे रहे. इसलिए बॉटनी के प्रोफेसर परिमल त्रिपाठी, पहुँच जाते हैं जीजा जी …के ‘जीवन में विश घोलने’… एक अत्यंत शुद्ध हिंदी बोलने वाला वाहनचालक यानी ड्राईवर बन के, फिर क्या है, जीजा जी की ज़िन्दगी नर्क हो जाती है और परिमल अपने मकसद में कामयाब हो जाता है.

मंजू का किरदार यक़ीनन हृषिकेश मुखर्जी द्वारा रचे गए सबसे आज़ाद ख़याल किरदारों में से एक था, मंजू अल्हड है, शरारती है, बेहद खुश मिजाज़ है और सूरत ही नहीं, दिल से भी बड़ी खूबसूरत है.फिल्म आनंद के आनंद और फिल्म खूबसूरत की मंजू में काफी समानताएं हैं, आनंद की तरह उसे भी दोस्त बनाने का बड़ा शौक है, दोनों ही मानते हैं, की ज़िन्दगी जितनी हंसी ख़ुशी में गुज़रे उतना अच्छा. दोनों ही मानते हैं, की समय की तलवार के साए में ज़िन्दगी नहीं कट सकती, पर ख़ुशी बांटते हुए ज़िन्दगी जीने से वो अपने लिए ही नहीं दूसरों के लिए भी गुलज़ार हो जाती है इतना ही नहीं  मंजू और आनंद दोनों को ही नियम तोड़ने का बड़ा शौक है, और दोनों ही ज़िन्दगी को अनमोल मानते हैं इसीलिए शायद आनंद हो या खूबसूरत,इन किरदारों के माध्यम से हृषिदा आपको ज़िन्दगी के पल पल को जीना सिखाते हैं. ज़िन्दगी जियो तो निर्मल आनंद के लिए, कहती है मंजू.

रघु एक बावर्ची है, पर शान्ति निवास के अशांत निवासियों के लिए रघु फ़रिश्ता है. जब वो इस घर में आता है तो देखता है की परिवार रुपी माला के सभी फूल बिखरे हुए हैं, और मुर्जाये जा रहे हैं. वो धीरे धीरे इन्हें एक माला में पिरोता है और फिर चुप चाप निकल जाता है एक दुसरे अशांत घर की तलाश में जहां उसकी ज़रुरत है. आज के समय में कोई भी सुपरस्टार एक खाकी निक्कर वाला बावर्ची बनने को भले ही न राज़ी हो पर उस समय रघु को सुपरस्टार राजेश खन्ना ने शान के साथ अदा किया. ज़िन्दगी में खुशियाँ ज़रूरी हैं, हर कोई अपनी ज़िन्दगी खुश रहने के लिए ही जीता है, ये बावर्ची अनूठा है, ये बावर्ची झूठा है, ये बावर्ची भी आनंद, परिमल और मंजू की तरह बड़ी बकबक करता है पर इसकी बक बक में भी ज़िन्दगी की कई सीखें छुपी हुई हैं. ये बावर्ची बताता है की जीवन की खुशियाँ एक दुसरे को मुस्कुराने में ही हासिल की जा सकती हैं.

याद आया कौन सी फिल्म की बात की जा रही है? बात की जा रही है बॉलीवुड की सबसे शानदार कोमेडिज़ में से एक गोलमाल की. फिल्म गोलमाल का रामप्रसाद मुसीबत का मारा है, उसको नौकरी की सख्त ज़रूरत है पर नौकरी देने वाले भवानी शंकर अजीब किस्म के इंसान हैं, जो इंसान को उसकी मूंछ और पहनावे से आंकते हैं, रामप्रसाद पहनावा तो बदल लेता है पर साथ ही नौकरी बचने के लिए उसको अपने जुड़वाँ भाई लक्षमणप्रसाद होने का नाटक भी करना पड़ता है. दोनों को मिलाकर कर अब उसका बस एक ही मकसद है, भवानीशंकर को ये सिखाना की किताब का कवर देखकर ये नहीं बताया जा सकता की उसके अन्दर क्या लिखा है. रामप्रसाद भी आनंद, रघु, परिमल और मंजू की तरह मस्त मौला है, नौटंकी करना उसे अच्छा लगता है और वो भी इन सब की तरह नियम और कायदे कानून में बंधी हुई ज़िन्दगी के खिलाफ है. हृषिदा द्वारा उकेरा गया रामप्रसाद उर्फ़ लक्ष्मनप्रसाद भारतीय सिनेमा पटल का वो किरदार है जो सदियों तक जिंदा रहेगा.

You may have watched these films many times but do you know that sometimes due to various reasons the editors and makers of these films have taken out some scenes from the final theatrical release? Well sometimes they are not just required and sometimes just because of the excessive length of the film, editors have to take such harsh decisions. We have handpicked here 8 of such scenes which you would love to watch!



  1. TAMASHA – IMTIAZ ALI – This one scene between Ved and Tara brings out the complexities of their relationship so beautifully that it leaves you speechless for few seconds. Ranbir Kapoor prooves that why even after so many debacles at Box Office, he is the best we have got.

 

2. DEAR ZINDAGI -GAURI SHINDE – Gauri Shinde who won Best Debutant Director from her first film English Vinglish always writes her own films. In her second venture she picked a story of an utterly complicated character which you may find a bit irritating and unlikable sometimes but in this particular scene which was edited out of the final cut, she says what we all want to say at the certain point of time in our lives. Alia Bhatt nailed it!




3. ENGLISH VINGLISH – GAURI SHINDE – We were just talking about Shinde but we can’t finish talking that without talking about English Vinglish. There were so many moments in this beautiful film and many of them just can’t make its final cut. The journey of Shashi (Sridevi)  is as adorable as these edited scenes.

 

 

4. YEH JAWANI HAI DIWANI – AYAN MUKHERJI – Though one may think that Ayan’s better-written work was “Wake Up Sid”, His second venture “Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani” has it’s own moments. One very beautiful moment was edited out of the final cut. Loved the philosphy yet simplicity of this scene.

 

 

5. LAGAAN – ASHUTOSH GOWARIKAR – This Oscar Nominated movie was no less than a master class of cinema. Though was a sports cinema but it has theatrics and music at the right place which makes it as Bollywood as anything else. Watch this piece of the scene where the ensemble is singing and practicing for the cricket match.



 

6. SHOLAY – RAMESH SIPPY – So here comes the most awaited one. We all know everything about this cult classic. There is nothing which is unknown to the Indian Cinema lovers about Sholay. We all knew about the alternative ending of Sholay but have you watched it? Here it is!

 

7. BAND BAAJA BARAAT – MANISH SHARMA – If we look back to this film, it was a very important film as it gave us the two biggest stars of the present time – Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. The story of Shruti and Bittu has many relatable yet adorable moments but some of them were taken out from the final cut. Here are they.

 

8. KAL HO NAA HO – NIKHIL ADVANI – Many would disagree with me, but I think this was the best-written film by Karan Johar. The ensemble and the performances everything was so lovable. We can’t get enough of Kal Ho Naa Ho. So let’s have some more. PS: You will see Zohara Sehgal and Kamini Kaushal also.



 

9. SWADES- ASHUTOSH GOWARIKAR – There are only two types of people in this world. One who likes “Swades” and one who does not understand Swades. There was a very beautiful song composed by AR Rahmaan – Aahista Aahista which was not in the final cut of the film but I highly recommend you to listen to this before you go to bed. Nostalgia Guaranteed!

फिल्म आक्रोश का मजबूर आदिवासी किसान लाहन्या भीकू जो लगभग पूरी फिल्म में कुछ नहीं बोलता केवल अपने बोलते हुए चेहरे के भावों से अपने ऊपरहोने वाले अत्याचार व मजबूरी को अभिव्यक्त करता है। वह अपनी पत्नी के बलात्कार व उसकी मौत को बर्दाश्त करता है लेकिन फिल्म के अंत में अपनी अवयस्कबहिन पर होने वाले संभावित बलात्कार से बचाने के लिए उसकी हत्या कर देता है।

फिल्म आरोहण का गांव का  गरीब किसान जो १९६० के नक्सलबाड़ी आंदोलन से प्रभावित होकर भूमि स्वामियों द्वारा किये जा रहे अत्याचार के विरुद्ध लड़ताहै और अंत में सफल होने तक अपना सब कुछ खो देता है ,अपने परिवार को खो देता है और अंत में मर जाता है।

फिल्म अर्ध सत्य का आदर्शवादी पुलिस अफसर अनंत वेलंकर जो पुलिस ,माफिया व भ्रस्ट राजनीतिज्ञों के गठजोड़ से लड़ता है और सिस्टम के विरुद्ध अपनीविवशता को जिस तरह इस नायक ने प्रदर्शित किया है वह बेमिसाल है।और इस अभिनय के लिए उनको बेस्ट एक्टर का नेशनल अवार्ड भी मिला।

टेलीविज़न फिल्म तमस का चमार नत्थू जो ठेकेदार के कहने पर सुवर को मारता है जिसको एक मस्जिद के सामने फ़ेंक दिया जाता है और जिससे सांप्रदायिकहिंसा भड़क उठती है। नाथू इस सांप्रदायिक हिंसा के लिए खुद को जबाबदेह मानकर प्रायश्चित करता है। इस तरह के  जटिल किरदार शायद ओमपुरी के लिए ही बनेथे।

फिल्म मिर्च मसाला का वृद्ध मुस्लिम चौकीदार जो पूरे गांव में अकेला महिलाओं के पक्ष में सूबेदार के विरुद्ध खड़े होने का साहस दिखाता  है|

A movie is a vision of its director. He is the soul and heart of the movie.

There are different kinds of Director, everyone has their own limitations and comfort zone. some shows relationships conflicts, some show reality, bring changes, represents the society, some make people laugh and then there are directors who are beyond limitations, they very beautifully shows every above element along with a social message to its audience.

That one such director in our industry is Rajkumar Hirani. Over more than a decade he has directed just 4 films. But those four films have changed the way movies are made and had a huge impact on our society.

In a very cult comical way, he gave us Munnabhai M.B.B.S the movie told us about the very basic things in our life and how often we neglect them. How a degree is not the only way to save a life. Ultimately it is love which we need, to be alive. It was the first installment of Munna Bhai and Circuit and they just stamped our hearts with their chemistry. We are still waiting for third installment – “MunnaBhai Chale Amrika”

Lage Raho Munnabhai

Who would have thought where in the country of India where most of the youth started hating the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi due impractical nature of it, A director will take chance to revive it through a new twist to it. His next venture made us go back to the time and understand the real meaning of Gandhism and how today we have forgotten its relevance in today’s time and yes, there is nothing which non-violence cannot solve. Humanity, respect for all human being is above all. The best part of the film was the moment when Munna realizes that Gandhi is not real but it’s his imagination. At this very moment, Raju Hirani brilliantly establishes the fact that we don’t need magic or miracles, we just need to understand Gandhi and his philosophy and adapt it to the modern times.

His third directorial was 3 idiots, it is not just a movie, it is a lesson, it is life in itself. A movie which showed the problem of the young Indian generation, the loopholes in the education system and how we perceive engineer and doctors to be everything. Teacher, students, and parents of all generations should not dare to miss this.

It told how in name of the religion we have divided ourselves and have allowed some people to rule us, make it as a business. The movie made us realize that it is high time we should use logic and question our faith before we have faith on it.

Diwali – the festival of lights, colors, togetherness and a big Bollywood release. Diwali is indeed one of the most important festivals for all the industries in India, especially for Bollywood. Be it the paparazzi news or famous parties it has always kept our eyes glued to the screen somehow.
But what’s most important is the “Diwali” movie time. Every year all the major production houses and stars fight for “Diwali Release” because it ensures a certain amount of business even if the product is not that great.
But this is also followed by controversies, fights, and drama to that “Diwali Dhamaka”. Sadly there can be only one rocket in the basket of crackers.
Here are some great “Diwali dramas” of industry in past few years. Some made news, some wore flops, and some welcomed controversy and fights.

Both the movies individually created a lot of headlines over past few months. A lot of games were played in front and even off cameras to gain public attention.
Ae Dil Hain Mushkil prior to the whole “Anti-national” controversy only was in the news for it cast and Karan johar’s comeback after 4 years. The teaser and dialogue made our hearts sink.
Shivaay, on the other hand, is the dream project of Ajay Devgn. Shivaay’s trailer promises a fabulous action thriller with never seen before visuals. We could have anticipated some drama between both movies –makers as soon the teasers were out.
The issue got highlighted when Ajay Devgn accused Karan johar of demeaning his movies though third sources. But after that the series of accusations started, eventually, both the films are doing fairly well at the box office right now.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015)

Last year Diwali was marked as the comeback of the “Rajshri production” and Sooraj Barjatya with their favorite character – “Prem”. The Prem we loved in “Hum Aapke Hain Koun”, “Hum Saath Saath Hain” and ” Maine Pyar Kiya”. It was the times of “Sansakar” all again. A fully fledged old family drama with the Rajshri’s touch. Salman Khans’ fan following made it one of the highest-grossing film of the year. Not to forget the song “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” welcomed a lot of memes and funny dubsmash videos. Though many of the critics believed that film was not up to the mark and did business because of it’s Diwali timing only. It was also a rumor that Salmaan Khan has forced other filmmakers to not release any film near to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. We all know why.

Rakesh Roshan brings back the Indian Superhero Krishh back on the cinema screen in 2013. Hrithik fought well as Krishh against the set of villains all inspired from the characters of famous X-men series. Though There was no Krishh 2, Krishh 3 kind of become a set of a joke for the critics. In spite of that Krishh did fairly well at the box office and Diwali turned out to be a real celebration for the Roshans.

Jab Tak Hain Jaan was already the talk of the town because of none other than the legendary Yash Chopra who was directing the movie after a decade-long gap. His last directorial was Veer Zara. It was the fourth time when the director of romance came along with the king of romance (Shahrukh Khan).
However, after the death of Yash Chopra the value of movie was increased as then it became the last project of Yash ji and the industry lost a gem. At that point, Ajay Devgn movie “Son of Sardar” was also releasing. He claimed that Yash Raj Production is being unprofessional and are using the sad demise of Yash Chopra as a way to earn more profits and wider release. They actually had a legal fight over the number of screen shared between the two releases over the Diwali. He even went to the competition commissioner of India then.

Though it was one of the most beloved projects of Shahrukh Khan but that didn’t make it a good movie. Though I still love the fact that how Shahrukh Khan showed courage to make such a movie which doesn’t fall in his genre at all. From technology to music he got everything from the best of the industry. Sadly, the execution and story felt flat and it didn’t do the magic for the Indian audience. 2007 was a time of good movies. Jab We Met, Taare Zameen Par, Chak De India, Life In a Metro and the list goes on.
It was during Diwali when the audience really faced the battle between two biggies of the Industry. On one hand, it was the Jodi of Shahrukh Khan and Farah khan who earlier gave us “Main Hoon Na” came together. On the other hand, it was the cinematic master- Sanjay Feela Bhansali who had movies like Black, Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in his pocket. Also, he was launching two stars – Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.
Om Shanti Om was a fully commercial movie and it experimented with 70’s style. It was quite an experience to see that era of the film industry in a film itself. As a result, the audience loved it. It was a blockbuster of the year.
Saawariya was an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoevsky’s short story “White Nights”. The movie was complicated to follow plus the experimental treatment of Bhansali becomes little indulgent and results into a beauty on-screen that skips the brain. However, Om Shanti Om can be tagged as Logical either.
However, that Diwali gave Bollywood three young actors who are actually doing great in the industry still. Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.
