“If a million people see my movie, I hope they see a million different movies” Quentin Tarantino.. I am not a big fan of Hollywood movies. Although I do watch few of them, but still I carry a lot of ‘Shudh Desi Romance’ in my heart. But the reason I quote Quentin Tarantino here is because the other day, when I watch my always loved hero speaking in an interview with Rajeev Masand, he tells him he is how inspired and star struck he is for him. Yes, my readers , he is no one but Ranbir Kapoor. And today this article is to wish him a very Happy Birthday . And irrespective of the age he attains , he will always remain forever young in my heart. The only reason behind is solely his acting skills. Perhaps some of which has passed down his genes, considering the hierarchy he carries.
His few remarkable performances etched in my heart :
I will not discuss the movie , but a particular scene that made me first acknowledge his devotion to his films. In the song sequence ‘ kuyn faya kuyn’ there remains a particular scene where despite the presence of camera, he simply stares blank and tries to make a conversation with God. It is beyond words to describe that particular sequence , only a true actor and audience can understand the connection.
Another largely less understood movie by Imtiaz Ali and by ex-lovers Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor is a chemistry that delves in deep thinking. The particular sequence between the two lovers Ved and Tara on the song ‘Agar tum saath ho’ where Tara in a desperate effort to save her relationship with her beau and Ved resisting it, is something beyond acting and making a true connection with audiences. It is one movie particularly , I felt exploited the skills of both the actors to its best.
Yeh Jawaani Hae Deewani
Although being labelled many a time as the ‘young generations’ come back movie. Their remain a few scenes that again create a impact in the mind of audiences like me. Remarkable amongst them, is the one in which even after confessing their love, Naina (DP) decide to part on the note that ‘Tum galat nahi ho, bas mujhse bohot alag ho’ with Bunny’s desperate attempt to hold her in an embrace ..saying 5 minute, 1 minute, 10 second…
Wake Up Sid!
Although I cannot specifically mention a particular scene but the little nuances in the character he played always touch my heart. Like helping his stranger friend ‘Ayesha’ in looking for an apartment, scolding his friend on failing ‘tere sath time waste nahi karta toh main bhi aj pass hota’ , to obliging his neighbour lady and child with candid pictures, learning to make Egg poach from another, making a cake with bread and jam for a surprise birthday, can I name just one ?
I will cut short my words here. And just end it with loads and loads of love from millions of his admirers. May he continue to entertain us always, and fingers crossed for “Ae Dil Hae Mushkil”…
