After well received shows of Taboo Talks, a show of monologues, and a houseful opening show of Taboo Talks 2.0 in last month; Taboo Talks 2.0 will be back with two shows on 2nd Jan 16.

Taboo Talks, conceived and created by the Baljeet Randhawa ( Founder Member of Scriptors) , is a set of contemporary monologues bringing untold stories; delving into the hearts of shunned or unvoiced characters, and this time it includes monologues of a male stripper, a teenager’s rant (about his dysfunctional family), about disability and love, story of a brothel and of a dissatisfied woman. Taboo Talks is not just about taboos, but it brings to you characters who are just looking for people to hear them out without being judged, sometimes the deepest and darkest recesses of their hearts, sometimes to mock the irony called life.

“It’s fresh talent, it’s fresh writing, fresh performances…” is what well-known theatre actor, Rajit Kapur says about it. Taboo Talks was also performed at Whistling Woods for around 400 people in the audience. Renowned film-maker Mr. Subhash Ghai too appreciated the work. “Power acting also requires powerful writing, and here we have amazing mix of everything” says Meghna Ghai Puri, President, Whistling Woods International.

“There are so many right things in the society, but the society perceives them to be wrong, why can’t we respect a person’s freedom of choice, choice of his or her lifestyle. Society also tends not to talk about something which it finds inappropriate, when we don’t talk about it, how can we decide if it’s wrong or right? Taboo Talks came from that, to bring out stories of such individuals in our society” says Baljeet, when asked about the idea behind the show.

Baljeet Randhawa and Rehan Shaurya started Dream Stage Theatre Group in 2014, and after a couple of theatre events, Taboo Talks was their first production. Taboo Talks 2.0 is happening in Jeff Goldberg Studio, Bandra this Saturday. The tickets of the show are available on bookmyshow.com.
